Once you login to your Admin Control Panel, it's easy to delete any existing locations/records that are contained in your database.
On the navigation menu, click the link that says "Delete Location" to bring up the search form.
Once the form is loaded, you will have several methods to search for an existing record
Search by Record ID:
If you you know the Record ID of the record you wish to edit, simply enter that ID into this text box. Click the 'Search' button to begin your search.
Search by Other Fields:
You may also enter text into the fields provided to do a specific search. Enter as much information as you have to find a desired location.
Search by State or Country:
You may also enter the 2-Letter State/Province abbreviation or the 2-Letter Country abbreviation. Doing so will display all records that match your search query. You can not however, enter search data into both text boxes at the same time. State/Country searches will only process independently.
Search Results:
Once you enter your search criteria, the system will search the database and present a list of any records that match your query.
Browse the list of results and click the 'Delete' link for any record you wish to delete. You may also use the 'Page' navigation link to switch result pages
Delete Confirmation:
After clicking the 'Delete' link for a record, you will be presented with a 'Confirmation Screen'.
Attention: Deleting a record from your database can not be undone.
If you are satisfied that you wish to delete this record forever, you should click the 'Yes-Delete' button. Pressing this button will remove this record from the database permanently. You will then see a "Deletion Complete" screen that confirms the deletion process is complete.
Tip: An alternative to Deleting records from your database forever, would be to flag a record as a Hidden record, so it will no longer be displayed in your results pages. This way, you could "unhide" the record at any time. You can flag a record as being Hidden, by editing the record and placing a check-mark inside the "Hide" option.
Delete All Records: (TIP)
If you wish to remove all records in your database, there is no "click of a button" method for doing this. However, you could import one location into your locations database and select the "Overwrite" option. This will delete all records in your current database and you will end up with only one (1) location record. Then you can simply delete this one record with the "Delete A Record" tool. The end result is a completely empty locations database. |
