The Program Settings screen will allow you to make global changes to your locator system.  Simply fill out the form and save your changes.

 

On the navigation menu, click the link that says "Program Settings" to bring up the settings screen.

 

 

 


 

 

Settings

 

Admin Image Directory:        

This is the location where you uploaded all the graphics that came with your download.

Use your relative URL from your domain.

Do not enter the www.domain.com here.

i.e.: www.mysite.com/locator/templates/images would be entered as /locator/templates/images

 

Default value is /locator/templates/images

 

Organization Email Address:        

Type in your own email address

 

Organization Name:        

Name of your company or website  

 

Website Title:        

This text gets displayed in the browser window title

 

Heading Text:        

This text is printed across the top of the pages on the front-end

 

Default Search Radius:

The default distance in miles the program will search when a user searches on their zip code but does not specify a radius.

 


 

Required Fields:

 

Place a 'check-mark' in the box for any field you wish to make a required field.  Doing so will require input

for the field in the Admin Control Panel and also in the Visitor's "Add a Location" forms.

 

I.E.:  If you wish to make the 'User1' field required, when admin is adding locations to the database,

you would place a 'check-mark' in this field's selection box.

User 1:        since checked, this field is now a Required field

 


 

Hidden Fields:

 

Place a 'check-mark' in the box for any field you wish to make a hidden field.  Doing so will make that field

stop displaying throughout most of your system.

 

I.E.:  If you wish to make the 'User 2' field hidden, you would place a 'check-mark' in this field's selection box.

User 2:        since checked, this field is now a Hidden field

 


 

Mapping Settings:

 

Google Base URL:

Do Not enter "http://" in this field!

 

In the event that Google makes changes on their end, for linking to their website, you may adjust the base URL here.

 

Default Base URL is:

maps.google.com

 

 

Yahoo! Maps Base URL:

Do Not enter "http://" in this field!

 

In the event that Yahoo! Maps makes changes on their end, for linking to their website, you may adjust the base URL here.

 

Default Base URL is:

us.rd.yahoo.com/maps/us/insert/Tmap/extmap/*-http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result

 

Show Map Link In Results:         1=Yes, 0=No

Enter a '1' here if you wish to offer a link for maps and driving directions in your results pages. Enter a '0' to turn off map feature.

 

Open Map Link In New Window:         1=Yes, 0=No

Enter a '1' here if you wish to launch a new window when a user clicks the link for maps and directions

 

Map Link Text:        

This text gets displayed as the link to maps and directions on the Front-End.  Enter any text you wish, such as "Click Here for Map" or "Get Directions".

 

Active Map Service:        

You can choose to either activate MapQuest or Yahoo! Mapping. MapQuest only supports USA maps while Yahoo! supports USA and Canada.

 


 

Miscellaneous Settings:

 

Open Website Link In New Window:         1=Yes, 0=No

Enter a '1' here if you wish to launch a new window

when a user clicks a locations website link

 

Admin Max # Records Displayed Per Page:        

Enter the max number of records per page you wish to display in the Admin Control Panel area

 

Front-End Max # Records Displayed Per Page:        

Enter the max number of records per page you wish to display in the Front-End area

 

Front-End Max # Records Returned:        

Enter the max number of valid records that will be returned on the Front-End.

 

I.E.; Entering 20 here will only show up to 20 matches, even if there are more matches found.

 

# Page Links Displayed Per Page:        

Here, you can define how many page links you want

displayed per results page.

 

I.E. Entering an 8 here, will yield the following in the

page link navigation:

Admin Odd Row Color:        

Enter any hex color. Default is: #F4F4F4

 

Admin Even Row Color:        

Enter any hex color. Default is: #CCCCCC

 

Cell Color for Ranked Location:

Enter any hex color here, and this color will be display as a table cell color behind all "Ranked" locations.  Leave blank to have no color.  Default is: #DDEEFF, which is a light blue color.

 


 

MySQL Database Settings:

 

Tip: It is becoming more common these days, for hosting companies to require you to add your domain or login

info to your Database Name when trying to attempt a login.  Always needed if you are on an Ensim or CPanel

enabled server.  Please check with your hosting provider for exact details:

 

Example: If your website is hosted on an Ensim Pro enabled server, and your database

is named 'locator' and your domain is 'Apple.com': Database Name would be: apple_com_-_locator

 

 

Database Host:        *usually localhost

Enter the host name for your MySQL database. Usually 'localhost', 'localhost.localdomain', 'sql.myserver.com' or maybe an IP address

 

Database Name:        

Enter the name of your MySQL database.  Please use the exact name you used when creating your database.

 

Login Username:        

Enter your MySQL Username

 

Login Password:        

Enter your MySQL Password

 


 

User Defined fields:

 

Leaving a field Blank will Disable that field from use in your system.

 

Enter any text you wish for labeling your own user fields.  Entering a text label will activate that user field and put in use.

 


 

Limit Searches:

 

Turn this feature on/off:

Select on or off from the drop down list.

 

Max # of searches per IP Address:

Enter any number here.  This number is the amount of time a user can perform a search on your locator without being denied access to the locator.

 

Number of Minutes to deny search ability:

How many minutes will a user be "Denied" from searching your database once they have reached their Max # of searches?

Enter any number in minutes. 60=1hr, 1440=24hrs, 10080=7days, 43829=1mon, 525948=1yr        

 

Warning Message:

This message will be displayed to the user once they have exceeded the search limit. (HTML Ok!)

 


No Matches Found:

 

Message to Print:

This message is what is displayed to the user when they perform a search but no matches are found.  HTML is ok.  Keep message short.

 


 

Visitor Add Permissions:

 

 

Who is allowed to add locations to database:        

Select 'Admin Only' above to only allow the Administrator to add locations.

 

Select 'Admin & Visitors' to allow the Admin and all site Visitors to add locations.

 

How do you want Visitor Added locations to be processed:        

Select 'Admin Must Manually Approve' above to manually approve each location when a visitor adds a new location to your system.

 

Select 'Add Immediately to Database' to automatically process and approve new locations to go live.

 

Notify Admin via Email: 1=Yes, 0=No

Enter a '1' here if you wish to receive an email notification when visitors add new records to your database.

 


 

When you are ready to save your changes, simply click the "Save Changes" button at bottom of page to save your settings to the configuration file.
